ET Genetic Code May Be Found In Human DNA, According To Kazakhstan Scientists' Biological SETI Theory

ET Genetic Code May Be Found In Human DNA, According To Kazakhstan Scientists' Biological SETI Theory

Physicist Vladimir I. shCherbak of al-Farabi Kazakh National University of Kazakhstan and astrobiologist Maxim A. Makukov of the Fesenkvo Astrophysical Institute refer to this far-out concept as "biological SETI."

The results of their research -- "The 'Wow! signal' of the terrestrial genetic code" -- can be found in the peer-reviewed journal, Icarus.

The title of their study, which was partially financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, refers to an unexplained radio signal detected by SETI scientists in 1977.

While SETI -- the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence -- relies on the use of radio telescopes and signal-processing technology to search the heavens for alien life, shCherbak and Makukov theorize there's a better way of detecting ETs.

The Kazakhstan scientists believe there's a possible intelligent "signal" within the human genetic code.

"It has been repeatedly proposed to expand the scope for SETI, and one of the suggested alternatives to radio is the biological media," they write in the abstract of their study.

"Genomic DNA is already used on Earth to store non-biological information. Though smaller in capacity, but stronger in noise immunity is the genetic code. ... Once fixed, the code might stay unchanged over cosmological timescales; in fact, it is the most durable construct known. Therefore, it represents an exceptionally reliable storage for an intelligent signature."

Makukov and shCherbak contend that life throughout the galaxy may have been spread by intelligent design, that instead of life developing as a result of random processes, maybe extraterrestrials had a hand in it.

But, of course, that begs the question: If the seeds of life somehow originated with ETs, who first designed the designers?

The Trap of Time

The Trap of Time

Back when I was just a schoolboy, my 5th grade teacher Mrs. Sampson hung the classroom clock on the back wall, so as not to distract us from her lesson plan.  It didn't work, because every kid in that room had the swivel neck, looking over their shoulders to glance the time many times an hour.  Before long She added a hand made sign below the clock, in the shape of a bumper sticker.  It read: "Time will pass...will You?"  We did of course, and along with whatever we gleaned from the teachings; we also acquired a lifelong relationship with time, for better or worse.

For some of us, punctuality is the prime directive while for many it remains an elusive addition to our skill set.  For some of us time is a master, for others, a nagging mother-in-law; and some...well they never give time a second thought, they just don't have the time for it.  In 1971, Spiritualist teacher Ram Dass published his seminal work entitled "Be Here Now," which among many other things, extolled the virtue of living in the present moment.  In a very real sense, the present moment in time is all we ever really have.  While living in the past may seem attractive because the rent was so much lower back then, it is essentially a coping mechanism used by folks who just cannot handle the pace of modern day life.  Conversely, living in the future (daydreaming) may seem like a productive effort, but only the very talented manage to make a decent living at it - for all the rest it remains just another defense mechanism...the eternal hope that the future will be better despite reality showing no signs thereof.

"Time is an Illusion." ~ Albert Einstein

The reason so many guru's and spiritual teachers want us to focus upon, and live in, the present moment is because time is an illusion of our own creation, we made it up, just like we do with everything else.  Humans invented the concept of time primarily to facilitate being asleep within a consensus reality matrix.  Those awake within the dream we call life released the notion of time, knowing as they do that all there is, or ever was or will be...is the eternal Now.  The Point of Power is always in the present moment, never in the past, or future...and that is, the power of choice.    Time is spherical, not linear, and as such it connects every aspect of All That Is with every other aspect...not a single aspect excluded.  Put another way, everything that has ever happened or ever will happen is ALL happening right now in this eternal moment of Now.  Fortunately we have a built in mechanism which acts like a series of step-down transformers to prevent this fact from toasting our grey matter: it's called the 12 chakra system.**

"The reason we have time is to keep everything from happening at once"
                                                             ~Buckaroo Banzai, (Stolen from Einstein)~

We also use time as a convenient scapegoat when we really don't want to do something: "I just don't have the time."  Balderdash!  Each of us has the exact same amount of "time" with which to do things.  The same number of hours in a day that Bill Gates, and Stephen Hawking have, we also have; so we either make the time for something or not!  If we hadn't created time then perhaps we'd be less anxious to muck about making periodic changes in it to squeeze every last dollar from each day ~ Daylight savings time!  Twice a year the owners force us to gain or loose an hour every day to accommodate purely commercial enterprises, totally disregarding the sacred sleep cycle.  To make it even worse, last Sunday's daylight savings time shift happened to occur during the current period of mercury retrograde, in Scorpio!  Think of the hundreds of working folk who forgot to adjust their clocks, and as a result rush franticly to make up the lost time.  How many will cause or be included in a traffic accident because of time?  Speaking of working folk; just who is responsible for the 40 hour work week anyway?  What an archaic abuse of time.

Does anybody keep those kind of statistics...about the cost in dollars & lives of this ridiculous mockery of time called daylight savings time?  What then of the additional confusion caused when some communities here and there refuse to acknowledge DST, and keep the same time year round?  Yes it can be chaotic, and often times funny depending upon one's perspective.  Consider the ancient Maya, who were indeed masters of time.  For more than 2000 years their civilization got along just fine with time.  They understood time perhaps better than anyone ever has, and they measured it in cycles and patterns, whether the cycle was Trecena-13 days, Veintena-20 days, Tzolkin-260 days: or the long count of 26 thousand years.  I think the Maya understood the timelessness of time, they understood it in Galactic terms, rather than planetary, I think they could see the eternal moment of time which surrounds, and eventually engulfs us all.

"Time is the fire in which we burn"
~Soran~ [Star Trek Generations]
(Stolen from Delmore Schwartz)

Of course, mankind's tampering with time is as a drop of water in the ocean compared to what the universe routinely does with time.  Thanks to Albert Einstein we know that all things, including time, are relative.  We know, for instance that a space traveler who went to alpha centauri & back would return having hardly aged while everyone they ever knew had long since died.  We know that nothing, including light can escape from a black hole, so what about time...what becomes of it in such an environment?  Kinda gets us back to that eternal moment of Now.  Distances in the galaxy, and universe are so vast we must measure them in terms of time, how long it takes light to travel a year at 186,000 feet per second...or a light year.  for example, on this scale, the light from our sun takes eight minutes & 17 seconds to reach earth.

Because of relativity, time has shown us some marvelous things, for instance; if you set two identical clocks to the exact same time, then put one on a space ship traveling at light speed...you get what is termed spooky action at distance; in other words changes made to the earth bound clock would also appear on the clock aboard the space ship!  Weird enough for you??  Buckle up!!  Scientists are now discovering that even the speed of light may not be a universal constant, as Einstein thought.

Things get even stranger in regards to time when we look at the opposite end of the spectrum, where we find atoms, molecules and such.  Cutting edge advancements in our understanding of the quantum world of string theory show that the laws of physics as we know them work quite differently on the sub-atomic scale.  Electrons behave very strangely, as we can measure either it's position, or speed, but not both at once; the reason for this being partially due to the electron's ability to appear to be in two places at the same time!  Electrons can manifest either as a particle, or a wave...(but once again), not at the same moment.  And what about Tachyons, those theoretical particles which cannot mover slower than the speed of light??  Think of the astonishing potential harnessing tachyons would have.  It would enable and facilitate faster than light communication; such that exchanging messages with both the past and future would be feasible.  You would of course have to in some manner invoke or create a Lorentz Invariance to get around some undesirable side effects on the causality of things, but it could be done, given you could create or collect tachyons.

Don't get comfortable with time just yet because in less than a nanosecond we're going even smaller, and further down the wormhole.  What's smaller than a Nanosecond you may ask??  Have you heard of Planck Time?  Let me put it to you this way...  Planck time is the time required for light to travel (in a vacuum) a distance of one Planck Length:  How small is that???  If one atom was the size of the entire known universe, a Planck length would be the height of the average tree!  I mention this mostly to give some perspective to the discussion of time as we understand and live with it.  If we are ever to understand how we fit into the overall scheme of things, shouldn't we effort to discover how the overall structure of things functions?

So here we all are at the end of time (Mayan calendar) just as world shaking changes are taking place, (as predicted) and the resonance of 5D grows stronger with each soul arising from slumber.  You might expect that time itself would begin exhibiting previously unseen attributes, and you'd be right.  A great many people nowadays are having the experience of elastic time when some hours are much longer than others...and sometimes it seems that time itself freezes for brief periods, and even speeds up.  Just more evidence of shifting realities and paradigms.  Many of us speak in terms of there currently being two earths, of incompatible resonance vibration...so imagine the surprise when I begin to see headlines about the earth splitting in two at the equator this week.*

"Time and Tide wait for no man." ~ St. Marher, (1225)

Obviously, if we are indeed at the end of time then, by definition we are pioneers ~ being as we are 'where no one has gone before'... and cannot expect therefore to find such luxuries as map, compass or instructions.  We're here on our own kids, and that means it's time to put everything we've learned (spiritually) into play, "It's Showtime!" and the clock is ticking.

Like uncle Albert showed us, time is relative depending on whether you're using galactic measurements, or Planck lengths: whether you're talking about time on a geologic, prehistoric, or current day scale.  When we humans invent something as cool as time, we sure don't spare the detail...we go all in.  The Rolling Stones may have had time on their side, but then they weren't living in today's post-Fukushima reality where not only is time decidedly NOT on our side, (meaning us, the living), it isn't even our friend anymore.

There comes a time when no matter how frightening the horror is; you can no longer hide beneath the blanket, hoping the nightmare will get better or go away.  When even the strongest denial syndrome cracks from repeated blows of cognitive dissonance, you simply have to come out and face the monster, and then stare it down, because it ain't gonna get better and it's not going away.  Between the few reports of radiation related deaths escaping the Japanese truth blockade, and the scores of sick, dying and mutated marine life washing up simply everywhere, the Fukushima cows are coming home to roost big time.  The genocide of the pacific ocean from Fukushima radiation is now so widespread that not even the most determined efforts can censor it.  The truth is out, and as usual...it's far worse than we have been told.  Perhaps worse even than we can imagine.

Just this week we have seen several experts and authorities openly admitting to the press that the overall situation is, in a word, Hopeless.  Like the super massive black hole at the center of our galaxy, the nuclear volcano Fukushima will just continue to eat away at every single lifeform on earth, until at last the only life remaining will be that which thrives on such extreme environments.  Cockroaches!

"I wish it need not have happened in my time." said Frodo
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times,
But that is not for them to decide.  All we have to decide
is what to do with the time given us."
J.R.R. Tolkien ~ The Fellowship of the Ring

The point here is simple and easy for anyone to see, and that is, that time is more precious to us now than it ever has been before in the history of our species.  Simple as that.  When it comes down to your final days of life, what memories will you cherish most?  Will you wish you had put in more overtime down at the office?  Or perhaps you'll wish you'd spent more time acknowledging, and being with those you care about the most.  Will you curse yourself for the time you wasted, or be at peace, knowing time spent knowing yourself is never wasted?  Even if every other major crisis on this planet was peacefully resolved with food and shelter enough for every single human, and the abolishment of war, slavery and GMO food-like-products was a fact of life....there still would be no fix for Fukushima, and it will just continue, long after the last human perishes from this place.

This then, is the trap of time.  What will we do with the remaining time given us?  Will all semblance of civilized society dissolve into the stuff of every apocalyptic movie ever made...or will we, as a species show a bit of class, a shard of dignity as we go down with Gaia; taking a deep breath and accepting our fate?  Yeah, I know you'd prefer not to think about such things...and that's a huge part of the problem here because it prevents you from finding that peace.  The peace to go out dancing every weekend and follow your bliss as though the world was just dandy and fixin to last a million more years.  The peace that leads to finding the truly precious things about life, before you must release it, once again, as you have so very many times before.

"How did it get so late so soon?" ~ Dr. Seuss

What shall we do?  I rather suppose that we should re-think our priorities in life just now, and take stock as they say.  Make a conscious effort to acknowledge, and respect all life...ALL life.  Maybe dial back the pretentiousness and aggression enough to see that we really are all one after all, and from that, take forgiveness & gratitude...and some humble pie.  There will of course be hoarding and elevated competition for dwindling resources, but I'm really hoping humanity can rise above those levels of barbarism since we are in the very midst of a spiritual evolution, and all.  Perhaps in the final analysis this is what it takes for us to finally begin to truly value one another.  Just as Hunab Ku, the black hole at the center of our galaxy; Time has us in it's grip, which doesn't seem so bad until the corporeal systems begin to fail.  And just like the black hole; Time will have it's way with us - in the fullness of time.

Playing God: 4 Geoengineering Projects Doomed To Fail While Polluting The Earth

Geoengineering technologies are the stuff of Hollywood catastrophe flicks. It seems scientists want to play God with our climate and nothing will stop them. Researchers have recommended sending out a giant glass sunshade into space to reflect light; the eruption of artificial volcanoes, or spraying of sulphate aerosols into the stratosphere; dissolving mountains and putting remains in the sea; and, least dramatically, perhaps, filing the ocean with iron filings to stimulate algae blooms. Here are 4 geoengineering projects doomed to fail while they pollute our Earth.

"People are right to be revolted and alarmed," says Matthew Watson, the head of the Stratospheric Particle Injection for Climate Engineering (Spice) team. "That's a good thing. It should not sound easy. If we do this, it will be the clearest indication we have failed as planetary stewards. It will be a desperate thing to do."

Critics of geoengineering claim the government started modifying the environment years ago, through chemtrails. Critics have been mocked as conspiracy theorists, however the concern is shared by rational scientists and experts as well as many environmental activists, for reasons that stretch back to the Vietnam War.

Between 1967 and 1972, the US air force carried out "Operation Popeye", the first use of weather as an instrument of war. Almost 3,000 flights were sent into the skies above the Ho Chi Minh Trail, where planes seeded clouds with silver iodide particles, causing storms and extending the monsoon season. "Popeye" turned the strategic pass into a bog -- and appalled the international community. In 1977, the Enmod (Environmental Modification Convention) treaty outlawed weather warfare.

"The UN General Setting up must dust it down," points out Jim Thomas of the ETC group, a company that advocates maintainable development. The action team on Disintegration, Modern technology and Concentration views any kind of technological best option to climate modification as a "harmful interruption", taking focus away from typical CO2 decrease methods, such as replenishable energy resources. A "postponement needs to be called" on research, even in the lab, he says.

Except on that critical factor, the line between underwriters of geoengineering and those that want it prohibited is amazingly slim. While a handful of experts assume we should geoengineer or encounter catastrophe, they form a minority. Geoengineering is "the wrong answer", states Flavor's Matthew Watson, who blogs as the Hesitant Geoengineer.

From computer system modelling, many researchers know exactly how wrong geoengineering initiatives are. Spraying large amounts of sulphate aerosols into the stratosphere would, for instance, obscure the visibility of the sun's rays and affect all life on Earth. Rainfall patterns could also go haywire, the ozone layer could break up. Dump iron filings into the sea and you might well kill off swathes of marine life. There are far too many risks that exceed the benefits of controlling a climate which many scientists don't even believe is a problem anymore. It's a natural course for the Earth and all claims regarding global warming have been exaggerated for political gain.

4 GEOENGINEERING PROJECTS DOOMED TO FAIL

1. STRATOSPHERIC AEROSOLS

The Technology: Scientists are already trying to stop the sun's rays and heat from reaching the Earth's atmosphere by reflecting some of the sun's rays back into space using aerosals. They've been called chemtrails, aerial spraying, aerosol emissions, cirrus clouds, among many other terms. The largest reports come from Canada and U.S. but it happens all over the world including countries such as France, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom among many others. Thousands of planes spray chemicals, salt or other particulates into our atmosphere in an attempt to curb global warming (so they say).

How Scientists Want to Play God: The release of chemicals or particulates, like highly polluting sulfur have been discussed for almost a decade by many scientists worldwide waiting in the wings for funding. They want to add more small reflecting particles in the upper part of the atmosphere (the stratosphere which is located between 15 and 50 kilometers above the Earth’s surface). The goal is that these stratospheric aerosols will be engineered to migrate to particular regions (e.g. over the arctic) or to rise above the stratosphere. A CFR geo-engineering meeting summary document from 1999 (PDF pages 12,13,14) also categorically stated that the ultimate goal under “A technology strategy for global warming” is the implementation of a global Carbon Tax. So they want to play God and tax man at the same time.

Why it Won't Work: This is among the riskiest and most ridiculous of global warming fixes. Global weather patterns could be drastically affected. Artificial weather modification can impact all of us by reducing water supplies, changing agricultural crop production cycles, reducing crop production, and water availability. Since most experimental weather modification programs use chemicals released into the atmosphere the public could be subjected increasingly toxic or unknown substances that could adversely impact agricultural crops and trees. If we artificially change the growing seasons, our pollinators like bees and birds (many now in sharp decline across the United States), may not survive, leaving many flowers, native plants, agricultural and trees crops that are not pollinated. Native grasses, plants, trees, and agricultural losses could be devastated not only in the United States but on a worldwide basis.

2. SPACE REFLECTORS

The Technology: Scientists would assembling a giant glass sunshade in space then firing it into orbit to reflect a small proportion of the sun's rays, according to astronomer Roger Angel.

How Scientists Want to Play God: Scientists claim a reduction of just 2 percent in sunlight reaching the Earth would make warming more manageable.

Why it Won't Work: Asteroids, primarily. Glass discs would be vulnerable to space debris, and maintenance of a "space umbrella" requires time, expertise and money. Any attempts to control the exterior perimeter of the Earth through God-like intervention in space reflectors is an exercise in futility since any type of technology, regardless of how advanced, would never withstand the strength of even small asteroids and space debris which would essentially render these reflectors useless.

3. OCEAN FERTILIZATION

The Technology: Dropping iron filings into the ocean could theoretically generate blooms of carbon-absorbing plankton. The plankton then take in CO2 at the surface, then carry it with them as they drift to the ocean floor after death, creating "carbon sinks".

How Scientists Want to Play God: Scientists think that they can optimally fertilize the ocean (artificially) to help restore lost/threatened ecosystems. They theoretically assume iron infusions could preferentially favor certain species and alter surface ecosystems even though they have no evidence on the overall impact since the effects are unknown.

Why it Won't Work: Population explosions of aquatic life that disturb the food chain may impact many wildlife populations. This has already been shown to lead to an unnatural imbalance between fish, whales and jellyfish. A 2010 study showed that iron enrichment stimulates toxic diatom production in high-nitrate, low-chlorophyll areas which, the authors argue, raises "serious concerns over the net benefit and sustainability of large-scale iron fertilizations". It takes a long time for comparatively little effect, and the impact on marine life could be devastating. Where plankton blooms in contained water sources, fish can suffocate. Fertilising the oceans would also marginally acidify them.

4. ARTIFICIAL TREES

The Technology: Advanced technology already exists to extract CO2 from the air. Klaus Lackner of the Columbia University Earth Institute has developed machinery that would replace a tree and extract 1,000 times more CO2 a day from the atmosphere than a natural tree.

How Scientists Want to Play God: Scientists think that building these artificial tree systems around the world could replace nature's blueprint with a more advanced form of extracting CO2 from the atmosphere.

Why it Won't Work: 1) High cost: direct air-capture measures like this would cost a minimum of $600 per tonne of CO2 removed. 2) The effects of removing 1000 times more CO2 out of the atmosphere than natural trees could have a detrimental effect on ecosystems and upset he homeostatic equilibrium of these systems which may dramatically affect the food chain.

Global Dimming

Comparing Israeli sunlight records from the 1950s with current ones, Dr Stanhill was astonished to find a large fall in solar radiation.

"There was a staggering 22% drop in the sunlight, and that really amazed me." Intrigued, he searched records from all around the world, and found the same story almost everywhere he looked.

Sunlight was falling by 10% over the USA, nearly 30% in parts of the former Soviet Union, and even by 16% in parts of the British Isles.

Although the effect varied greatly from place to place, overall the decline amounted to one to two per cent globally every decade between the 1950s and the 1990s.

Dr Stanhill called it "global dimming", but his research, published in 2001, met a sceptical response from other scientists.

It was only recently, when his conclusions were confirmed by Australian scientists using a completely different method to estimate solar radiation, that climate scientists at last woke up to the reality of global dimming.

This visible air pollution created by geoengineering reflects sunlight back into space, preventing it reaching the surface. But the pollution also changes the optical properties of clouds.

Because the particles seed the formation of water droplets, polluted clouds contain a larger number of droplets than unpolluted clouds.

Recent research shows that this makes them more reflective than they would otherwise be, again reflecting the Sun's rays back into space.

Scientists are now worried that dimming, by shielding the oceans from the full power of the Sun, may be disrupting the pattern of the world's rainfall.

There are suggestions that dimming was behind the droughts in sub-Saharan Africa which claimed hundreds of thousands of lives in the 1970s and 80s.

Others have speculated that the UN's depopulation plan (Agenda 21) is using geoengineering as one of its most effective platforms.

There are disturbing hints the same thing may be happening today in Asia, home to half the world's population.

"My main concern is global dimming is also having a detrimental impact on the Asian monsoon," says Professor Veerhabhadran Ramanathan, professor of climate and atmospheric sciences at the University of California, San Diego. "We are talking about billions of people."

The Industrial-Military Complex For Complete Weather Control Against Global Warming

HAARP is a large 180 antennae grid that projects powerful electromagnetic pulses to heat a specific point in the earth's ionosphere. This has the effect of creating electromagnetic frequencies that can be bounced back to earth at desired locations, causing major disruption to weather and geophysical elements, even deep underground. Up to 3.6 billion watts can be generated by HAARP, heating the ionosphere to over 50 000 degrees and “lifting a 30 square kilometre area of the ionosphere, thereby changing localised pressure systems or even altering the route of jet streams.”

The Case Orange report cites evidence that Raytheon could develop the capacity to “exercise a form of complete “weather control”, a situation bearing a marked similarity to the Monsanto corporation's stated ambition “to control the food chain.” It is noteworthy that there are currently more than 500 ‘climate ready’ genetically modified plant gene patents awaiting licensing approvals in Washington and Brussels. ‘Climate Ready’ GM seeds and plants are promised by their creators to be capable of producing a crop under both flood and drought conditions.

The human rights and environmental watchdog 'ETC Group' describes the atmospheric geoengineering developments as follows: “The roll-out of 'Plan B' (a reference to the use of geoengineering if other efforts to curtail emissions should be deemed ineffective) is being skilfully executed: Prominent high level panels sponsored by prestige groups, a spate of peer-reviewed articles in science journals and a line up of panicked politicians in northern countries, nodding nervously in agreement as scientists testify about the “need to research Plan B.”

Rady Ananda states at the end of his paper: “Case Orange ties-in a 1996 report by top military personnel in the US entitled “Weather as a Force Multiplier: Owning the Weather in 2025” with details such as government spraying schedules, chemical orders, correct nomenclature used in airline operation manuals and calls for geoengineering by economists, to support its notion of “heavy involvement of governments at top level in climate control projects.” Ananda continues: “Owning the Weather in 2025 provides a specific time line for the use of En Mod technologies in cooperation with the Weather Modification Association, a business-government group promoting the 'beneficial' (my emphasis) uses of environmental modification:

2000-2025 Use chemicals for atmospheric seeding by civilian (as well as military) aviation
2004 Create smart clouds through nanotechnology, with exponential increase from 2010
2005 Introduce carbon black dust.”

The UN Enlisted In Geoengineering Military Combat Against Climate

In 2007, The World Meteorological Organisation (of the United Nations) published a statement that included “Guidelines for Planning of Weather Modification Activities.” This document clearly implicates the UN in plans to conduct aerosol spraying activities on a wide scale.

In a section of the Case Orange report dealing with 'the bare necessities of geoengineering through cloud generation for the survival of the planet' the authors state: “Our investigation team comes to the conclusion that climate control programs, controlled by the military but approved by governments, are silently implemented in order to avoid the worst case scenario they obviously do not want. The two basic instruments are temperature control through the generation of artificial clouds and manipulation of the ionosphere through ionosphere heaters.

“Both remain basically military combat systems with the option to go into the offensive if deemed necessary. However, since several ionospheric heaters are installed at various places around the globe, one can assume that there is wide cooperation between governments in order to reach climate targets by 2025: controlling the weather and the planet.”

The spraying schemes seem to be organised in a logical pattern so that the whole of Europe is covered in a 3 day period. Coloured maps of Europe indicate when each regime is to take place.

In the report's section entitled “Recommendations”, the authors state: “Persistent chemtrails have a devastating impact on eco-systems on this planet and to quality of life in general.” The authors call for the full disclosure of the current En Mod activities to the public, as well as for all civil aviation laws to be abided by.

Moratorium On Geoengineering Activities Led Nowhere

In response to policy interest in geoengineering as a means to control climate, a sub-committee of the United Nations Convention of Biodiversity proposed, in May 2010, a moratorium on geoengineering activities. This proposal was heard at the Tenth Conference of Parties to the UN Convention of Biodiversity in Nagoya, Japan but no outcome on curbing geoengineering initiatives were concluded.

The Case Orange report further states that the US permits open air testing of chemical and biological weapons, which overrides the civil law mentioned earlier in this article. The authors paraphrase the permissive law thus: “The Secretary of Defense may conduct tests and experiments involving the use of chemical and biological agents on civilian populations.” It seems that ‘national security’ concerns can be used by the President to overrule environmental and public health considerations. Is the same true in Europe?

Other significant reports include an important paper by Dr Ilya Perlingieri, entitled “The Consequences of Toxic Metals and Chemical Aerosols on Human Health”. She states: “Over the past decade, independent testing of Chemtrails around the country have shown a dangerous, extremely poisonous brew that includes: barium, nano-aluminium coated fibreglass (known as CHAFF), radioactive thorium, cadmium, chromium, nickel, dessicated blood, mould spores, yellow fungal mycotoxins, ethylene dibromide and polymer fibres. Barium can be compared to the toxicity of arsenic and is known to adversely affect the heart. Aluminium has a history of damaging brain function.”

The Consciousness Revolution By Graham Hancock

By Graham Hancock

Graham Hancock

Here's the full text of the article Russell Brand kindly invited me to contribute to last week's issue of the New Statesman. The article, entitled The War on Consciousness, had to be shortened to fit the space available in the magazine, but I reproduce the complete unedited text here.

Consciousness is one of the great mysteries of science – perhaps the greatest mystery. We all know we have it, when we think, when we dream, when we savour tastes and aromas, when we hear a great symphony, when we fall in love, and it is surely the most intimate, the most sapient, the most personal part of ourselves. Yet no one can really claim to have understood and explained it completely. There’s no doubt it’s associated with the brain in some way but the nature of that association is far from clear. In particular how do these three pounds of material stuff inside our skulls allow us to have experiences?

Professor David Chalmers of the Australian National University has dubbed this the “hard problem” of consciousness; but many scientists, particularly those (still in the majority) who are philosophically inclined to believe that all phenomena can be reduced to material interactions, deny that any problem exists. To them it seems self-evident that physical processes within the stuff of the brain produce consciousness rather in the way that a generator produces electricity – i.e. consciousness is an “epiphenomenon” of brain activity. And they see it as equally obvious that there cannot be such things as conscious survival of death or out-of-body experiences since both consciousness and experience are confined to the brain and must die when the brain dies.

Yet other scientists with equally impressive credentials are not so sure and are increasingly willing to consider a very different analogy – namely that the relationship of consciousness to the brain may be less like the relationship of the generator to the electricity it produces and more like the relationship of the TV signal to the TV set. In that case when the TV set is destroyed – dead – the signal still continues. Nothing in the present state of knowledge of neuroscience rules this revolutionary possibility out. True, if you damage certain areas of the brain certain areas of consciousness are compromised, but this does not prove that those areas of the brain generate the relevant areas of consciousness. If you were to damage certain areas of your TV set the picture would deteriorate or vanish but the TV signal would remain intact.

We are, in other words, confronted by at least as much mystery as fact around the subject of consciousness and this being the case we should remember that what seems obvious and self-evident to one generation may not seem at all obvious or self-evident to the next. For hundreds of years it was obvious and self-evident to the greatest human minds that the sun moved around the earth – one need only look to the sky, they said, to see the truth of this proposition. Indeed those who maintained the revolutionary view that the earth moved around the sun faced the Inquisition and death by burning at the stake. Yet as it turned out the revolutionaries were right and orthodoxy was terribly, ridiculously wrong.

The same may well prove to be true with the mystery of consciousness. Yes, it does seem obvious and self-evident that the brain produces it (the generator analogy), but this is a deduction from incomplete data and categorically NOT yet an established and irrefutable fact. New discoveries may force materialist science to rescind this theory in favour of something more like the TV analogy in which the brain comes to be understood as a transceiver rather than as a generator of consciousness and in which consciousness is recognized as fundamentally “non-local” in nature – perhaps even as one of the basic driving forces of the universe. At the very least we should withhold judgment on this “hard problem” until more evidence is in and view with suspicion those who hold dogmatic and ideological views about the nature of consciousness.

It’s at this point that the whole seemingly academic issue becomes intensely political and current because modern technological society idealises and is monopolistically focused on only one state of consciousness – the alert, problem-solving state of consciousness that makes us efficient producers and consumers of material goods and services. At the same time our society seeks to police and control a wide range of other “altered” states of consciousness on the basis of the unproven proposition that consciousness is generated by the brain.

I refer here to the so-called “war on drugs” which is really better understood as a war on consciousness and which maintains, supposedly in the interests of society, that we as adults do not have the right or maturity to make sovereign decisions about our own consciousness and about the states of consciousness we wish to explore and embrace. This extraordinary imposition on adult cognitive liberty is justified by the idea that our brain activity, disturbed by drugs, will adversely impact our behaviour towards others. Yet anyone who pauses to think seriously for even a moment must realize that we already have adequate laws that govern adverse behaviour towards others and that the real purpose of the “war on drugs” must therefore be to bear down on consciousness itself.

Confirmation that this is so came from the last British Labour government. It declared that its drug policy would be based on scientific evidence yet in 2009 it sacked Professor David Nutt, Chairman of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, for stating the simple statistical fact that cannabis is less dangerous (in terms of measured “harms”) than tobacco and alcohol and that ecstasy is less dangerous than horse-riding. Clearly what was at play here were ideological issues of great importance to the powers that be. And this is an ideology that sticks stubbornly in place regardless of changes in the complexion of the government of the day. The present Conservative-Liberal coalition remains just as adamant in its enforcement of the so-called war on drugs as its Labour predecessor, and continues in the name of this “war” to pour public moneyDescription: http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png – our money – into large, armed, drug-enforcement bureaucracies which are entitled to break down our doors at dead of night, invade our homes, ruin our reputations and put us behind bars.

All of this, we have been persuaded, is in our own interests. Yet if we as adults are not freeDescription: http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png to make sovereign decisions – right or wrong – about our own consciousness, that most intimate, that most sapient, that most personal part of ourselves, then in what useful sense can we be said to be free at all? And how are we to begin to take real and meaningful responsibility for all the other aspects of our lives when our governments seek to disenfranchise us from this most fundamental of all human rights and responsibilities?

In this connection it is interesting to note that our society has no objection to altering consciousness per se. On the contrary many consciousness-altering drugs, such as Prozac, Seroxat, Ritalin and alcohol, are either massively over-prescribed or freely available today, and make huge fortunes for their manufacturers, but remain entirely legal despite causing obvious harms. Could this be because such legal drugs do not alter consciousness in ways that threaten the monopolistic dominance of the alert problem-solving state of consciousness, while a good number of illegal drugs, such as cannabis, LSD, DMT and psilocybin, do?

There is a revolution in the making here, and what is at stake transcends the case for cognitive liberty as an essential and inalienable adult human right. If it turns out that the brain is not a generator but a transceiver of consciousness then we must consider some little-known scientific research that points to a seemingly outlandish possibility, namely that a particular category of illegal drugs, the hallucinogens such as LSD, DMT and psilocybin, may alter the receiver wavelength of the brain and allow us to gain contact with intelligent non-material entities, “light beings”, “spirits”, “machine elves” (as Terence McKenna called them) – perhaps even the inhabitants of other dimensions. This possibility is regarded as plain fact by shamans in hunter-gatherer societies who for thousands of years have made use of visionary plants and fungi to enter and interact with what they construe as the “spirit world”. Intriguingly it was also specifically envisaged by Dr Rick Strassman, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico, following his ground-breaking research with human volunteers and DMT carried out in the 1990’s – a project that produced findings with shattering implications for our understanding of the nature of reality. How to Digitally Record/Video a UFO sighting:

Como registar digitalmente ou gravar um vídeo de um avistamento de um UFO:

Stabilize the camera on a tripod. If there is no tripod, then set it on top of a stable, flat surface. If that is not possible lean against a wall to stabilize your body and prevent the camera from filming in a shaky, unsteady manner.

Estabilize a camera com um tripé. Se não tiver um tripé, então coloque-a em cima de uma superfície estável. Se não for possível, então encoste-se a uma parede para estabilizar o corpo e evitar que a camera registe de maneira tremida e instável.

Provide visual reference points for comparison. This includes the horizon, treetops, lampposts, houses, and geographical landmarks (i.e., Horsetooth Reservoir, Mt. Adams, etc.) Provide this in the video whenever is appropriate and doesn’t detract from what your focus is, the UFO.

Narrate your videotape. Provide details of the date, time, location, and direction (N,S,E,W) you are looking in. Provide your observations on the weather, including approximate temperature, windspeed, any visible cloud cover or noticeable weather anomalies or events. Narrate on the shape, size, color, movements, approximate altitude of the UFO, etc and what it appears to be doing. Also include any unusual physical, psychological or emotional sensations you might have. Narrate any visual reference points on camera so they correlate with what the viewer will see, and thereby will be better able to understand.

Faça a narração do vídeo.

Be persistent and consistent. Return to the scene to videotape and record at this same location. If you have been successful once, the UFO sightings may be occurring in this region regularly, perhaps for specific reasons unknown, and you may be successful again. You may also wish to return to the same location at a different time of day (daylight hours) for better orientation and reference. Film just a minute or two under “normal” circumstances for comparison. Write down what you remember immediately after. As soon as you are done recording the experience/event, immediately write down your impressions, memories, thoughts, emotions, etc. so it is on the record in writing. If there were other witnesses, have them independently record their own impressions, thoughts, etc. Include in this exercise any drawings, sketches, or diagrams. Make sure you date and sign your documentation.

Always be prepared. Have a digital camera or better yet a video camera with you, charged and ready to go, at all times. Make sure you know how to use your camera (and your cell phone video/photo camera) quickly and properly. These events can occur suddenly, unexpectedly, and often quite randomly, so you will need to be prepared.

Look up. Be prepared. Report. Share.
